Genuinely warm, friendly and caring staff. All the residents are settled, comfortable, happy and well looked after. I have had experience with several care companies in the Cheltenham and Gloucester area, including care homes and domiciliary services, in my opinion, Charlton Kings Care Home is head and shoulders above the others.

I'm an experienced Healthcare Assistant and started working here in June. I've been made to feel welcome and part of the team since day one and it feels like I've been here a lot longer! Management and senior staff are approachable, supportive and are quick to resolve any problems should they arise. The residents are absolutely fab and I'm enjoying getting to know them all and their stories! I'm excited about my future with CKCH.

I only spent a short time here, but I was glad to leave because as a new person, I was left entirely all by myself with 32 residents while some staff were having a handover, some lunch, and my team member disappeared. the team leader had to shout everyone in as they went straight from the morning handover right out into the smoking area. I was then told that one person could wait till after lunch to be changed, and another who needed attention got no response to the bell. That was when I went looking round and found them all elsewhere doing non care things.Cigarettes were more important than residents. IMHO if that's the case, then the people can't even look after their own health, never mind the residents. I took my decades of nursing elsewhere.
