I had my IUD put in place today. Because I havent been there before, the doctor say me and asked about both my medical and sexual history. I wasnt allowed to let my partner in unfortunately due to covid but still had a lovely experience. Had a lovely nurse who came in and helped ease the process.

I booked an appointment for the family planning clinic, which is now integrated with sexual Health/GUM clinic. I was not there for sexual health screening and said i did not need any sexual health tests, but the nurse still insisted on unnecessary tests and embarrassing questions and lecturing which made me feel anxious and stressed. I was also not aloud to have another person in the room with me which added to my stress. I feel family planning and GUM/sexual health should be kept separate to avoid this treatment from happening. I strongly feel they should consider changing their procedure, also very understaffed and takes weeks to get an appointment.
