I visited this hotel during a business trip and I think I had the best sleep and shower of the trip. the rooms are large and spacious with very comfortable beds and warm blankets. The bathroom, brand new, is very large and well-kept with top quality products available to customers. The breakfast was fantastic, with the option of ordering a typical English breakfast off the menu or helping yourself to a large buffet. The hotel has an agreement with a restaurant a stone's throw from the hotel, as soon as we arrived we had dinner there and we were very happy! Decent but not great The service and staff were excellent. So helpful and welcoming and cannot fault them at all. The room itself would have been good if it had been properly cleaned. The bathroom was not cleaned as it should have been and there was mould in the bottom of the shower (in the grout of the tiles and in the silicone). The walls in the room had some spills and marks and need to be wiped down. To be fair, I didn't tell the staff (I was there 1 night and not in the room much) and perhaps the situation would have been rectified if I had. The biggest issue I had was the noise. There was a door near my room that opened and closed loudly all night. It is an older building and sound carries more but it was disruptive and I wouldn't suggest a room on the 1st floor for any light sleeper.
