Wow, what a fantastic evening we had. The setting is lovely. Cosy, comfortable and nice atmosphere. Excellent service and some of the best food we've eaten. We also booked an overnight stay in one of the rooms at the Inn which I also recommend. Cosy and comfortable and a fantastic breakfast. Nice walks in the area. We'd booked a table for 6.30pm for the tasting menu. We opted to go with a bottle of Picpoul rather than the wine flight which was very nice. The meal started with Sour dough, olives and mushroom, celeriac tart. The sour dough bread was so good, the crust was crispy and tasty. The olives buttery and the tart was very nice. Lots of Textures, salty, sour.. yum Next up, Scallop kojo butter and mushrooms. A perfectly cooked Scallop with an almost anchovy salted flavour sauce. Loved it. Duck leg lasagne followed. The duck consomm is delicious, full of flavour and with the rich lasagne and onion was another great dish. Next up a surprise dish. sweetbreads xo sauce and mustard, this dish was amazing so full of flavour. The smokiness and umami of the XO sauce was so good. We both thought this dish was outstanding. The Halibut, cabbage dish was good but our least favourite. The fish was perfectly cooked and again delicious. Main was Venison with Jerusalem artichoke. Served perfectly rare, the combination of flavours was excellent.. that tiny dot of red on the plate was potent sour cranberry... really very good. We also ordered a bottle of red wine to go with this. Earl Grey and lemon granita.. and mini lemon meringue came next.. refreshing and the most delicious lemon meringue I've ever had.. we will be back just to have the full size version of this..immense Another surprise.. Rhubarb and custard gin drink.. tasted like sweets and went perfectly with the next dessert Rhubarb, pistachio sponge and saffron custard. Loved this. Full of flavour, not too sweet, loved it. Petit four.. the white chocolate lemon one was perfect. Could've eaten another.. Another surprise and because we still had wine left .. salted caramel, nougat and ginger chocolates.. again superb. Then just because we didn't want the evening to end and we had wine left we shared an additional dish of cheese.. a perfect finish to a perfect evening. The dishes provoke conversation throughout the evening and we absolutely loved it. 10 out 10 for everything, service, food and venue. Whilst 80 per person before drinks its certainly well worth the indulgence if you can. Will most certainly go again. Thank you. Food & drinks: The most delicious and enjoyable meal I've ever had
