I met the owner (John) at his workshop and immediately he was welcoming and relaxed and never made me feel like i shouldn't be there. The workshop had an array of completed, ongoing bike projects all of which looked amazing. It was so far fetched from the corporate greed of some more established dealers that wont look at you for less than 10K on a motorbike.
Johns information about the Heralds was honest and open and he made the whole experience really easy and relaxed. There was never any pressure to be ushered out his workshop (because he was busy) and he dedicated a LOT of time to me, even though i was only currently window shopping.
I test rode a Herald 400 Classic the following week as the Cafe 400 were hard to get hold of currently and instantly feel in love with the bike. Theyre not sports bikes or racing bikes but they are cheesy grin makers and eye catchers.
All my questions were answered by John and never felt he was trying to get an angle on my buying decision. He left the decision completely up to me.
The purchase of my Herald Cafe 400 has been one which i have simply had not one single regret. Johns (Rosterscc) is now a place i will happily pop to if there was ever a problem with my bike but also pop over to just for a cup of tea or beer and talk all things bikes.
There was another Herald customer there on one of the days and we all ended sharing chocolate cake and having a bit of banter as it was his birthday the day before.
So if i were to recommend a Herald, buy one from Roosters, if i were to recommend a custom build, go to Roosters, if i were to recommend somewhere to get your bike serviced, go to Roosters.
