A lot of the 5 star reviews here are 4+ years old. I have had a very bad experience. Terrible cut, not as i asked when booking, felt extremely uncomfortable and looked worse when i left than when i entered. This looks like a professional salon but it is not.

I am the kind of person that gets anxiety whenever I go to the hairdressers. I have very long hair that has taken years to grow and I have always wanted that very light whitish, creamy blonde. Over the years, a couple of hairdressers have coloured my hair but never to the colour that I have wanted, each time damaging my hair for a colour I did not ask for. Many more have turned me away and said it was impossible to achieve. At last I met Philly @ David John. I have not felt this happy with my hair for many many years! Not only is this a difficult colour to do on my now fragile hair, I am also a difficult client to please. Philly clearly has all the knowledge and expertise that you would want from a hairdresser. To top it all off, Philly and all the staff at David John are extremely kind and friendly and looked after me very well! This hairdressers is the truely one in a million. Thank you all so very much! 5 Years ago, I wrote an absolute growing review. I know COVID has a lot to answer for, but it feels like the owners have just 100% given up on the salon. It used to be a lovely thriving environment, but it's now always quiet, pretty much all the staff that was there 5 years ago have pretty much left or are leaving. There's no new faces being trained up like what happened in the past. Going used to be enjoyable, now I dread it, my stylist however is fantastic, just the salon that's just gone down the drain. If it carries on how it is, I'm not sure how much longer it'll last. Shocking really to see how much a business can go down hill in a relatively short space of time.
