Lucy Can't Dance

I knew as soon as I saw Lucy Can't Dance's dresses on social media, I knew they were for me! I dress 1940s/1950s everyday so knew I wanted a retro inspired dress. I also didn't want to wear white, Lucy Can't Dance was perfect for me. I struggle with how I look - I'm plus size (UK 18/20) - and was really anxious about if the dresses would fit or look good on me. I also didn't think I'd be cool enough for their dresses. I didn't need to worry! From my first fitting, the staff made me feel like I belonged. The staff at LCD are so wonderful. They made me feel special and I didn't once feel uncomfortable or judged for my size and shape. I loved that you could pick out so many options and colours and create something truly unique. I settled on tutti frutti with a reverse blue dip dye. I asked for the neckline to be a V shape rather than a boat neck. Just as a side note, the shop in Chelmsford is AMAZING. The colours, the decor, the music...PERFECT. I loved being there. The dress was so beautiful. The details were stunning and the colours were perfect. I got so many compliments (the kids at the wedding said I looked like a princess/mermaid). Its was also comfortable and created a nice shape. It was perfect for running around, dancing, and feeding alpacas! Thank you LCD for making my wedding dreams come true. Your team are so lovely, talented, and creative.

As a self proclaimed 'chill bride' I was hoping I could just order something online, but after weeks of orders and returns I decided to suck up the 2 hour journey to the one bridal shop that caught my attention and it was SO worth it! The dresses are so beautiful and different, but also very customisable. I had so much fun trying dresses on in the very instagramable studio. I was a little tight on time (6 months) but the team at LCD said I had plenty of time and I actually got my dress early in the end. My dress came in two parts, a slip and an overlay, the slip was made from some magic material which puts Skims to shame so I felt amazing. Everybody LOVED my dress, including all the grandmas! I knew it was stunning but I couldn't believe the reaction I got. I wish I could wear it every day.

I visited the LCD studio to try on their dresses, and wow they are so beautiful! Super unique and well made. Lucy (and Bowie!) made me feel really welcome and was so patient with me. I could try whatever I wanted on and she was quick to make suggestions about how I could change up the styles if I wanted to. Sadly I couldn't squeeze enough out of my budget for a dress from here, but I am so pleased that I got to visit as it really helped me figure out what kind of dress I was looking for.

As soon as I walked into Lucy Can't Dance I knew in my gut I was in the right place for me - it was bright, colourful, edgy and full of the most unique and beautiful dresses I'd ever come across. I was super nervous as I still hadn't tried my dress on (I was lucky enough to get it in a sample sale) but the team were so amazing at keeping me calm and were determined for me to really enjoy the experience (having severe anxiety disorder and body confidence issues definitely meant this was a challenge too)! The moment it was on I felt completely amazing - I knew I had found THE dress! I can honestly say that I felt like an absolute princess on my wedding day, which is a feeling I never thought I'd have so I really cannot put into words how grateful I am to LCD! If you are looking for a truly unique and utterly STUNNING wedding dress then I cannot recommend Lucy Can't Dance enough honestly - I will cherish my dress forever and will never forget having such a wonderful experience!
