Junior ISA rates are disproportionately low compared to others. Closed over the weekend so have to book a day off to carry out any transaction hence why Im closing my accounts. Goodbye Virgin Money

Went abroad with the Virgin Money Credit card. PIN got locked by accident which was my fault. Positives were that Virgin give decent credit limits in comparison to say MBNA and the Virgin team were quite easily accessible but you have to be careful with the options on the phone as the wrong one will cause them to end the call. The customer service reps were helpful once reached but had no power to unblock the card. Even MasterCard couldn't do it unless Virgin Money sorted it. This problem would have taken 60 seconds to resolve on a UK cash machine (and did) however, being in the UAE, the same options were not available and so the card was unusable. If you are dependant on this card/product whilst abroad and something like this happens, you will have no money and in a foreign country! I fortunately, had other arrangements but I will never rely on Virgin Money again for this purpose and the inconvenience put me off Virgin Money.

Even though I was an existing customer I was asked to provide ID for a new account application. I uploaded my ID online multiple times without success and in person at this branch. It was never processed until about 5 weeks later after lots of chasing. The account was eventually opened and then I learned very quickly that the new online banking service was glitchy and difficult to navigate. The whole process was a waste of time and I ended up switching out of Virgin Money. This bank has a poor appetite for lending, no overdraft or credit card was offered. The new current account offering was supposed to be something to look forward to, turns out not much better than the previous Essentials Current Account. I made alternative banking arrangements with Royal Bank of Scotland shortly after and was offered an overdraft and credit card with a good limit. If this new Clydesdale Bank/Virgin Money business is going to work out in the long term then it needs to be much sharper.
