My mother has been at this home for 4 years and during that time she has been adequately cared for, although in the last year there has been less attention paid to individual patients than before. There is little social exchange between them and the staff, largely because the staff are overworked. It often smells of urine and some patients look neglected with respect to their clothes and personal hygiene.. The turnover of staff also leads to less personal care. I think it is unacceptable to simply park the patients for long periods of time.. in front of a TV screen that hardly anybody is interested in. The highlights of the week for my mother are going to the hairdresser who has endless patience and an occasional event organised by the occupational therapy department. Unless I specifically ask about my mother's health I am not informed by the staff of any needs she may have. I do not have a good feeling about the way the care is going , but I believe it is about the best you can get in this area.
