It is not clear that the latest check in is 8.30pm. The staff kindly stayed for us till 9pm. There needs to be a text sent out saying alongside the fact we need ID, that latest check in is 8.30pm. On a Friday eve after work with bad traffic it is almost impossible to reach the hostel from the south East (Brighton). We had to leave work early as we called up to check if we could safely store bikes. Reception warned us then that the latest we could arrive was 8.30 only when we called up. We then drove with 2 small children in rain. We had an awful journey thinking we would be homeless that evening if we did not make it in time. We made it for 9.04. The staff on reception told us this happens almost every evening. Head office need to change this. It was not safe making guests rush to get there, especially with small children in the car. Rain and rushing on a Friday eve on the motorway felt very un safe. This policy needs to change. We were told Bath and Bristol are open later for check in. I've read other reviews and your response is to say the staff would work too many hours. You need to then manage your rotas more effectively. This is an un-safe policy, and a safeguarding issue, that you were willing to leave 2 small children homeless for the evening, as your check-in policy is completely in-flexible and floored. We would have never of booked the hostel if we knew when booking that check-in closes at 8.30 pm. In my eyes, this is a dangerous and shocking policy.

I stayed here Tuesday night and would definitely stay here again. Accommodation is so close to Cheddar village centre and the caves, brilliant location. I stayed in a private room with shared showering/ toilet facilities, everything, including kitchen, was spotlessly clean and showers were really hot and good pressure. Staff were super lovely and gave good local recommdations. Can't fault! On site parking.
