Lawyers are therefore picked for their interpersonal as opposed to technical skills (because this apparently helps to retain clients). Both are important traits, but disregarding the intellectual abilities required to draft complex documents is risible. This likely explains why their academics are less strong than other city lawyers. Take Revolut. Orrick advised on the initial investment and corporate governance. Look how disastrously that went!
