The Farrier is a great pub and serves good value meals but it's portion control has become ridiculous. Their cheese pies are fabulous but comes with less than a tiny tea spoonful of peas. One fork full and its gone. Also I counted seven chips. This is not a one off, it was the same the last time I ate there. I complained, but was told the chef doesn't listen.

2023 update. Been coming here with Casta for 40 years. (Oddly I have only known him for 20.) Very popular locals pub. Can be hard to navigate past them when going to and from the bar. Good real ale selection from Hydes and their offshoot micro breweries. Beer garden to front and side. Few too many TV's for me. Currently on a high since Liz took over in 2021 following the latest refurb. Food greatly improved. Gets really busy, hardly ever totally quiet. On the downside (for me) people can reserve tables...esp Saturday evening and Sunday lunch.
