My wife and I stayed at Chatton Park over the August Bank Holiday weekend. In a nutshell, it made our weekend. When we arrived, we were given a warm and genuine welcome from Michelle. We were invited to take tea in the lounge once we had taken our bags to our room. This was so welcome, a lovely cup of tea with cake, sat in the peace and tranquillity of the lovely lounge, looking out over the beautifully maintained gardens. Our room was immaculate. Excellent standard, tastefully furnished, views over the garden. A bottle of prosecco on ice and a lovely card from Michelle and Paul wishing us a happy anniversary. The peace and quiet is what is most striking about Chatton Park. It is a ten minute drive off the A1. Set in the beautiful Northumberland countryside, it is the perfect location to enjoy some quality time. We experienced breakfast on three mornings. I would say the ingredients on each breakfast were of exceptional quality. Our table looked out over the gardens. There was an excellent selection from the cold buffet. I have to limit myself to an full breakfast treat on the odd occasion. What a treat mine was. It was clear that nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast certainly set you up for a day. We spent our days exploring the area. Seahouses, Beadnell, Lindisfarne etc are a short drive from Chatton Park. We visited some of the restaurants recommended on Chatton Park's website and enjoyed lovely food in the evenings in the locality. Michelle was the consummate host, we were made to feel very comfortable during our stay. Only only regret was we had to return home at the end of our break. I would highly recommend Chatton Park for a luxurious and peaceful break in beautiful surroundings.

Exceptionally comfortable stay. We stayed in the Chillingham mini-suite with a view over the side garden. Features that I feel elevated our experience above previous stays elsewhere were the two substantial armchairs, so we were able to watch TV in comfort in the evenings. (Well, we are of a certain age, now) Michelle even provided a tea pot, so we could have a proper cup of tea while we were watching - with real milk from the fridge, also provided. Another good point was that the fridge was in a little cupboard in the hall, so we weren't disturbed by the pump. Wifi was reliable and fast. The shower had good water pressure and everywhere was scrupulously clean. There was a guest lounge with marvelously comfortable leather sofas and chairs, and there were also seats and tables in the attractive garden. One thing we learnt was that, when the house was built, they knew a thing or two. Trees were planted such that, even though there was quite a strong wind, we were sat in perfect serenity because the trees absorbed all the wind - same with the rain, it just drains off to the side and down the hill instead of flooding the house. The really outstanding thing about our stay, though was the breakfasts. The Eggs Benedict were quite outstanding. When I've had them before, they've been made with ham, but I think bacon is much tastier, and the free range egg was to die for. The kippers are easily the best I've ever tasted - so plump and juicy. Likewise, the quality of the ingredients in the Northumberland breakfast was outstanding. I thought the Portobello mushroom, the tomatoes and the sausage were particularly good. Michelle and Paul were the perfect hosts, generous with their local knowledge and happy to oblige. Nothing was too much trouble for them - we'll be back, I'm sure. It's so handy for so many local attractions, and set in such a quiet location. I found driving the local country lanes was a real pleasure. P.S. If you're looking for somewhere to plug in your shaver or toothbrush, try looking under the plastic flap on the side of the bathroom mirror
