Disgusting, that assessment person all nicey nicey to us, we were being honest, being explicit with my parent's condition and mental state. We provided alot of medical documents you assume they would look through (I also had to accompany him via taxi as their was no other way to go THAT FAR due to my parent's physical condition and needed someone with them to get out and in of the taxi and open doors to get in and out of the assessment center due to them having to use a rollator to get around outside as they can only walk for a few minutes before stopping for a break) also we sent a letter to get a home visit due to the nature of his physical and mental health, it would also make sense as they can see what he does and what they use round the house daily to aid them moving , but the home visit was declined, had to go to Chatham assessment centre and HAD TO accompany them because THEY CANNOT TRAVEL ON THEIR OWN AND THEY CANNOT USE PUBLIC TRANSPORT EITHER AND HAD TO GET A TAXI AND TRAVEL WITH THEM center does have a ramp lucky enough but given the nature of the business and people that try to claim benefits this should be a given and a must. That reception staff was nice enough and accomodating though . But I'm rating the assessor and how two faced they were and misconstrued anything we stated and said and that is what is disgusting to me, people who are honest hard workers have a hard time with the DWP, pay into a system and you get treated like trash or cattle. Very very, no, beyond angry as is one of my parent's that I had to go with to help them during the assessment. This parent cannot work and has difficulty doing some tasks physically and mentally they are all over the place and would be pretty much impossible to go do any nature of work, let alone a desk job. They were also involved in a very serious car crash due to a drunk driver who caused it and who only got very light injuries and the parent who was victim to this has claimed ESA as he was unable to move around as he was stuck to hospital bed for months due to the very serious injuries and had several surgeries to treat them as much as possible and even a few months ago still having trouble moving about and has appointments regularly till they had problems to prevented them going to appointments , all this info ( up till they got this medical problem after the assessment) was included in the paperwork and medical.related papers I handed in with my parent about the injuries he still has and how bad is mental.state from the accident is and hasnt got much better. I can only think something was overlooked and I'm beyond angry and furious that people pay into a system for decades upon decades and the time in their life for once they really need this to get by and live life week to week day to day cause they cannot work and DWP pull the rug from under them and leaving them vulnerable and potentially on the streets through no fault of their own and genuinely need financial help and should be able to get it. In summary the treatment assessors.give you may seem.nice, but they seem to misconstrue what you say into the final word from what I've read very recently. Congrats DWP, congrats, you may make someone in a very tough financial.position for years to come and even more problems to deal with, well done.
