Sutton House was built in 1535 by Sir Ralph Sadleir, and is now the oldest house in Hackney. One of the earliest brick house in London, witnessed the history of Hackney development. Once occupied a merchant from East India company. With an attempt to renovate the house, he made a change on the staircase.

Who knew there was a brick Tudor house in the heart of Hackney? Guided tour well recommend. Loads of history in the place and wonderfully restored.
