The Scratching Post

As some others have stated, its unfortunate to write a negative review on a charity, however, we have a had a poor experience with applying to adopt a cat. Weve found the difference between the staff at Java Whiskers and this charity very confusing. At Java whiskers, we were encouraged to make an application and had helpful discussions with staff, to be met with a staff member from Scratching Post who from the beginning did not seem to wish to place a cat with us. During our home check, we were asked inappropriate and seemingly random questions, no effort was made to actually look at the space and to examine all that we could offer to a pet. It seems that our application was not read, and the staff member had assumed the opposite of what was stated on the application. If this is how the home checks are being conducted for others, Id be very surprised many cats get placed at all, especially with many others living in similar spaces like ours in London. We have decided not to adopt with The Scratching Post and to look elsewhere, even if we are successful, based on this experience.

Nice compact charity shop which is really handy to pop in when you pop to Tescos. Prices for DVDs and books are extremely cheap so well worth a look.

Loved this shop. As an cat Animal lover but sadly shop has now closed down for good...they have one In Waltham abbey now .

Horrible receptionist that instead of helping was having a go at us when we were simply asking for advice. Terrible. If I could give a - review I would as to how rude she was!!!
