Go Building

I would have given zero star if I could. Not sure who these people who left 5 star reviews are... This company is atrocious. It's not here to run a business, it's here to take your money and run away.

Things started out quite well to be fair. Mik played a good salesperson role and made Go Building look like a legitimate building company. I have no idea how they managed to get two references. I don't believe any of those houses were done by their builders. The builders started demolition alright, but things started going south when the building works started... It's an endless list of what have gone wrong... They didn't build according to the architect's drawings, tried to cut short on the thickness of insulation needed, built a slanted wall, left things half done, crooked plastering, etc. They're essentially a shell company that sub-contracts jobs out to builders. You will be paying the builders directly because the builders do not trust that the owners would pay them. If you haven't heard/read about Gus Grewal, google him up. Also, try searching for a Mumsnet thread on Don't move extend company. He probably is aware of his bad reputation and hence has been hiding behind until you start engaging this company for your project. Once you paid, you'll get him as your project manager, who barely shows up on site, does nothing to manage the build but makes lots of (empty) promises! Please run as far as you can away from this company!

I highlighted this company a year ago after having a close shave. I would find a different builder if I were you. They are not what they seem. And I would also be very careful of Assent Construction who are using the same photos of projects that Go Building use and Lofts and Extensions before them. Run by someone with a very similar name to Harjinder Singh Sanghera who is associated with Go Building etc. Might be an amazing coincidence but I wouldn't take the risk.

I cannot stress enough that people need to avoid using this company. They have done a shocking job with our house, numerous parts of our house have been significantly damaged from their clumsy work and after promising to compensate us for these damages they have been ignoring our calls and messages for weeks. This company is purely looking to take your money and nothing else and I would seriously encourage people to avoid using them The workmen (they were not qualified builders) left the house and our garden in a disgusting mess - throwing their food and rubbish into our flower beds and constantly used our toilet and didn't clean it. Once we came back and found them drinking vodka in our sitting room when they didn't think we were coming back. Do not use this company at any price
