From the warm welcome to the wave of good bye our stay at The Moorings was just perfect. Our room with stunning sea view was clean and tastefully prepared along with fresh flowers and fruit made it into a home from home. Following a good nights sleep the continental breakfast, including locally sourced produce, proved a good start to our day (seated outside to the sound of the sea). What a perfect location! We'll be returning. A huge thank you to Jane & Bud.

The best thing about the the moorings B&B is that it has lovely views of the sea from the back of the garden and its very quiet. The garden is pretty pleasant with relaxing & comfortably feel. The room is spacious & comfortable with the usual facilities but above all clean and tidy. My main issues were the lack of adequate internet access. The signal was non existent & at best very weak. When the signal was available I had to stand at the kitchen sink as that was the only spot where it was available . Not easy to write emails standing at the sink after a long days riding. Secondly - no hot cooked breakfast. The excuse - COVID. So had to go to the other B&B where my friends were staying to pay extra (on top of 90 per night here) to have cooked breakfast. Where COVID seemingly had not impacted their cooking ability. Perhaps the real reason was cant be botheredness. You cant beat a good old English breakfast - sets your up for the day. I have no time for continental toast & cereal - its lazy way out & unsatisfactory.

Back from a trip to the south west at the weekend. Stayed at "The Moorings", Charmouth from the 5th to 11th September. A beautiful spot. Lovely views. Tastefully decorated. Great paintings on the walls. BUT we would not return here. Arrived Saturday afternoon. Our landlady, Jane Morrow explained there would be a small party on the terrace above, same on the Sunday as her husband had a big birthday. No problem for us as we believe in give and take. Same applied when our room wasn't done on the Sunday. That evening my husband had trouble with the t.v. we called the landlady, Jane Morrow, who managed to convey that we must be the problem as there hadn't been a problem with other people. My husband is a chartered engineer, 40 years with Rolls Royce. No idiot. I had booked the place over the phone. Jane Morrow told me she would put loads of "berries and nice things" in the fridge for breakfast. This never happened. We bought berries and nice things from Waitrose in Bridport. We had two cannisters of cereal, flakes and muesli, or as we came to call them; cardboard and sawdust. So tasteless. The real niggle came for me on Monday afternoon when I asked whether we would get fresh bread for Tuesday's breakfast. I got short shrift. I was told there was still half a loaf left and i shouldnt be eating it all day. It was a small loaf and i hadnt been eating it all day. Simply wanted to avoid 4 day old bread for breakfast!! On Monday morning we thought we could look forward to peace and quiet on the terrace overlooking the sea. No joy! What Jane Morrow had not told us at the time of booking was that next door was a building site. A large plot which was being redeveloped. We weren't in much of the time as out and about but it was enough of an irritation when we were. Lastly, the previous reviewer is correct. There is no WiFi. No signal. Dr and Mrs W. R. Callender.
