(Translated by Google) We visited Charmouth Beach and absolutely loved this beautiful seaside town on the Jurassic Coast of southern England. When we arrived we immediately discovered the large parking lot on the beach which was very convenient. From there it was only a few steps to the beach, which is really very long and wide. We headed straight for fossils, as Charmouth Beach is known for having many fossilized remains. We were amazed at how many different fossils we were able to discover including ammonites, belemnites and even a few fossilized shells. It was really fascinating to see how well preserved these remnants of the past are and how much one can learn about the history of our earth from them. The beach itself was also very nice, with soft sand and clear water. We spent some time walking on the beach and just enjoying the beautiful sea views. Overall, our visit to Charmouth Beach was truly amazing and we would recommend it to anyone with an interest in fossils and the history of our earth. The long beach, ample parking and stunning scenery make Charmouth Beach a wonderful destination for a day trip or even a longer stay.

Very stony beach but if you're here for the fossils thats no issue. I give 3 stars because the parking is very small spaces and limited spaces too. One car park is mud and stones the other is properly surfaced. Car parking is 7 for the day. Public toilets horrible. Shops are what you'd expect at the seaside...expensive. not easy if you need to take a car because one of your guests is a blue badge holder.

Highlight of my trip to the Jurassic Coast! I didnt know what to expect, and I was blown away - so glad I took the detour to visit. Stretches of golden sand punctuated by piles of pebbles and clay, all below dramatic and prehistoric looking cliffs. It was rough and stormy, so didnt see many people swimming, but it was a paradise for anyone who relishes unique scenery and sifting through interesting stones. Some people had pickaxes and were hunting for fossils, but I actually found one just sitting in the sand a ways down the beach. It was kind of crowded near the parking lot, but I walked about a mile down and had complete peace and quiet. Best beach I visited all trip.
