        You can access Wolveton as a day trip visiting the main property or stay in the gate house via the wonderful Landmark Trust. Access is not for those with a low riding car as this is a real country manor house not NT or EH "enhanced". We stayed in the gatehouse. The spiral oak stair case was a work of art depicting the strength of oak versus the ravages of time and woodworm. A privilege to spend a short time there. When staying in the gatehouse, you need to pay for and visit the main house in the normal hours. Delightful stay, not easy to find. Check maps beforehand.

        Beautiful medieval house and many interesting ancient artefacts within it. The uneven driveway is a challenge (!) but visiting Wolfeton House was an unexpectedly lovely experience.
