Yes it needs some TLC in places, but largely the communal areas are tidy and clean. Library panel walls, regal furniture, that sort of feel. Its an old building of character. Food is fine, bar is fine. I guess the complaints are mainly about the older style rooms. Staying fairly frequently as a business sales broker it gives me easy access for Gatwick, London and South East. The newer rooms are good, and as you would expect them to be in any similar Pi or TL, you just need to know which ones to ask for !!! Regular stayers probably have a different opinion and or insight to that of one nighters. Staff are always great, helpful, mixed nationalities, and a wide spectrum of characters. Naturally the web photos are of the better modern style rooms. I read one review, noisy planes..? Well yes, its at the foot of the runway of the UKs busiest charter airline airport so planes would be an issue . If like me you are a bit of an anorak, grab a wine and sit out front watching the aircraft in and out thats a bit like saying, stayed at the Gatwick Hilton, very loud aeroplane noises
