If I could give 0 stars, I would. Everything was absolutely fine up until the last day we were at the campsite and the owner of the land and his son in law approached us very aggressively and assumed we were going to do something to his private property and his shed, which we were very confused about as all of us would never say or do anything like that. He claimed that the locals had heard us in conversation talking about causing trouble, which was clearly a conversation misheard completely. The only time between the group we ever discussed a shed was the little shed at the end of the field we were pitched on that contained a single chair inside that looked instinctively creepy, something in a horror film for instance. A very innocent brief conversation. He threatened us almost instantly claiming that he would bring his sword down and stick it up our arse if we were to cause any trouble, which we hadnt. The only thing we were guilty of is burning some wood that he gave us permission to do and enjoy our time camping. Very disappointed with the hosts attitude and professionalism. Would not recommend and will be reporting his behaviour to a higher authority. The only person in the wrong here was the host who clearly assumed we were up to no good because we are young and thats it. Ageism is very much a hate crime and he displayed this type of behaviour. As a young women who works for the government, I have great knowledge of these types of attitudes taken by older people and unfortunately I am a victim to a lot of ageist hate crime. It is a shame because the camp site was lovely itself just unfortunately people around here arent so much.
