My son was forced to attend this School for a short time. Although my My son was forced to attend this School for a short time. Although my son has always been far above average in abilities and, from an early age, has been regarded as a gifted child, the Headteacher, Suzanne Flack, deliberately delayed his start date as she didn't want to risk her school's SATs results being adversely affected! Her school's results would only have been enhanced by his being allowed to sit the tests! Suzanne Flack's attitude was extremely insulting to my son and, as we were being forced, through threats, intimidation and harrassment from Duncan Cranna, Jennifer Sanderson/Padgham, David Farrow, Anthony Waller of Somerset LEA, into attending a Somerset school against our wishes - though we had legally de-registered due to the repeated physical assaults of my sons by other pupils at Swanmead School and later Stanchester and abuse from teaching staff at Greenfylde, Swanmead and the appalling St Margaret's, Tintinhull (where my poor younger son was subjected to repeated daily verbal abuse and derogatory remarks from his teacher Patricia King and her TA, Mrs Goddard, both of whom repeatedly aimed to humiliate and degrade my poor son in front of the whole class without any justification but were angry that I had not allowed my son to attend a residential course with them!) - having to attend a Somerset school at all meant we had to cancel our plans to view and apply to our intended school in another county! We did attend Redstart but, after the SATs, the childrens daily activities consisted mainly of reading books and taking part in quizzes! It was costing my family 100.00-plus per week in bus fares and taxi fares (for late finishes) to attend Redstart to read fiction! I had some consolation that my son was able to participate in the end of term play he has always been a natural entertainer and I knew he would thoroughly enjoy playing a part. He was so good! Sadly I did not record the play as I had paid for a DVD of the performance we did not receive our copy of the DVD. Redstart did not bother to send us a copy! Apparently, another pupil received our copy of the DVD! The pupil sent the DVD to us but, sadly, it was a faulty copy. No concern was shown toward us at all! My other consolation was that my son would, finally, be able to participate in Forest School which I knew he would also thoroughly enjoy. My son did enjoy the Forest School but, at the end of term, the Forest School teacher, Mr Terrett, gave all the children a wooden keepsake. As Mr Terrett cut grooves into my sons keepsake he cut himself. Mr Terrett bled onto the wooden keepsake and still gave it to my son to bring home! That is so disgusting and certainly against Health & Safety! I was stunned when my young son came out of school dangling the blood-stained piece of wood at the end of some wool! I photographed the object then took it into the school Reception area to complain. The school secretary called Suzanne Flack who took the blood-stained object from me telling me she would deal with it - I assume her way of dealing with it was to throw it into the waste bin as we heard nothing more about it! I called into Reception again but was told to speak to Mr Terrett. I tried to speak to Mr Terrett about the blood-stained keepsake but he just laughed in my face - obviously because he was well aware that Suzanne Flack would do nothing about his revolting actions and his breaching of Health & Safety! My son did, eventually, receive an alternative, non blood-stained, keepsake but we were treated appallingly by the school. Attending Redstart was not a happy experience for us and, due to our being forced, against our wishes, to attend a school in Somerset, our plans to escape this awful county were so delayed that we had to forgo them completely. My sons lives and futures have been destroyed.
