Wanting some top soil for raised beds at our allotment I called this morning to see about ordering some and getting it delivered, I spoke to a man called Derek. He seemed pleasant and helpful, and after a quick chat suggested we would need around 2 tonnes at a cost of around 100. Perfect, so how do we go about arranging this I ask? Derek tells me to go to the yard in Chadderton and speak to one of the lads there and it will all be arranged. OL9 9LL he repeats several times. So, off we go in the car. We get there, huge yard with piles of this and that bordering it, what you'd expect really, but no signs of life, no signs telling you 'office this way', nothing. We walk around a bit and then ask a guy sat in a truck where the office is, he points to the warehouse we've already been in and tells us there is a door on the laeft as you go in. As we alk in a young man comes out of said door and we tell him why we're here, to order some top soil. He points at a ppile in the warehouse. "There it is" Erm, okay. "We want to order some and have it delivered" Another guy comes out through the door, we repeat, we've been told to come here to order and arrange delivery of the top soil. "We don't take orders here, see that phone number on the gate (the one we called this morning), you need to ring that and they'll arrange it for you, simple isn't it, call that number" (condescending much) Immediately, I realise they will not be having our business. We get back in the car and I call, to complain. I speak to a woman who clearly doesn't want to hear a complaint, so she says she'll pass me back to Derek, the guy I spoke to this morning. I tell him what's just happened and this has all been a complete and utter waste of our time, I tell him what the older guy just said. Derek - "Yeah that's right they don't take orders there" I hung up. Pathetically bad customer service, absolutely terrible all around and a complete waste of time. Now our business goes elsewhere, and I might suggest some customer service training for EVERYONE there. AVOID!!
