Local Tree Works

Local Treeworks have carried out work on the trees on our property in Northamptonshire for the past 10 years and have always done a good job. They know our property and trees well. We recently asked them to price the removal of two large sycamores at the front of the house. The owner gave a verbal (and legally binding) quotation for the work based on his knowledge of the trees. I gave him trunk diameters over the phone and we spent 2 days removing lighting and our caravan. I took a day off work to ensure they had everything they needed. When The Local Treeworks' team arrived they took one look at the trees and said it would cost double the quote. Clearly this wasn't acceptable so they left. Our other quotes for the work were nowhere near the 1000 being demanded by Local Treeworks having arrived on site. Another company did the work even though we faced a weeks delay, and we will not use Local Treeworks again. And we certainly will not be held to ransom no matter how much we need the work done. What price goodwill and reputation?

I've been using Local Tree Works for firewood for a few years now and their wood is great. Just had my first double load delivered and it's all lovely well seasoned hardwood at a great price. Dave and his team are very busy but courteous, friendly and helpful.
