I am sad to say there where a number of issues which started before the big day...
The owner changed times from saying that on the day all guest's must have transport home etc by 11.59, then days before the wedding this was changed to last orders been at 11pm and guests to leave by 11.30. So I then had to contact all my guests, so they could rebook taxi's etc. I'd also created an order of service with the times on and didn't have time to change it.
The next issue was the rustic tables, they are lovely but a number of guests had got their clothes caught on the sharp/rougher edges and ripped holes in their clothes and I did get upset as this also happened to my wedding dress right at the front where it could be seen clearly .
Next, We had games outdoors for the children, which while they were still playing with them the owner collected them all in, even though adults were outside with the children, also playing with them and much before it started going dark. This then continued inside the venue as the owner started removing decor from the tables and clearing people's drinks that where full and were still being used (before last order were called and certainly wasn't past licence hours). This was happening from 9-9.30 onwards and we personally thought it was very rude and that nothing should have been removed until everyone had left to venue or to leave it to ourselves to do the following morning when we collected everything.
There were also arguments with the owner with the guests and alot of our guests had complained about her for different things.
Finally, when we were leaving, at the end of the evening, the owner told us that we must have everything removed by 11am. This was another time that had changed, as it had previously been 12noon, however this wasn't a problem. She ask for us to be there for 9am and we said we couldn't be sure when, as family had booked us in a hotel. We didn't know where we would be or how long it would take us to get back to the oaks but I assured her we would be there early enough for us to be gone before 11am. The following morning we where up, had breakfast and packed ready to leave to then receive a message saying we couldn't come until after 11am because she had to go out. We had rushed our morning for her to not allow us to come before 11, after specifically asking to be gone before then. We then travelled 20 minutes home for her to then message at 10.50 saying she was now back and we could go there, it is however a 25-30 minute drive away again.
Our over all day with family and friends and the beautiful sights of the venue were amazing and we did not let these things get to us on the day but feel these issues should be pointed out and improved on so future weddings/guests don't have to go through the same things.
