This monolith silhouetted against a primary arterial traffic/pedestrian interchange is all constrained energy. A unique, most unusual and provocative tribute set in a streetscape devoid of the noteworthy. A notable footprint and a portentous precursor to the ongoing regeneration.

Not every bit or brutalism from the 60's deserves to be preserved. Whoever took the decision to have this eyesore listed should be sacked. It obstructs views and generally gets in the way. It's ugly and almost impossible to take in as piece of art/a memorial as there's not enough space and distance available in the vicinity to do so. The sooner town planners decide to bury the substation it contains and tear it down the better.
