Milestones website is misleading. They say they promote a safe environment to help healing? A male, very intimidating qualified nurse, got angry with a patient there one time and yelled infront of all the other patients that he 'hadn't set fire to his flat, had I?!?' Justifing why he had been smoking in the hospital grounds and was upset and angry she of all people had complained to other staff members about It. The website says it has a high success rate- but fails to mention several suicides following discharge, one very recent that actually took place in the hospital. Also a death of natural causes, but due to the illness they were hospitalised for initially, that also took place at Milestones. Again it states it is a safe environment to promote healing, but fails to mention a patient was kissed while laying in bed by a female member of staff and after telling their advocate who was going to look into what was done about it, they never very oddly received a visit from her again? It also fails to mention the fact that a local A&E department reported serious concerns to adult social services regarding safeguarding following several very serious self harm incidents requiring complex medical care and treatment. It also fails to mention serious shortfalls in security at Milestones enabling patients to abscond from the building on unnoticed on numerous occasions meaning they were able to put their lives in serious life threatening danger requiring assistance from police ambulance and police helicopters to locate them. Or the high number of patients who upon discharge soon after, were re-admitted for very lengthy periods. They also fail to mention that a previous doctor who worked There,Was under investigation for sending NHS patients to Milestones, who he happened to own part of, when he was in fact promoting and in support of NHS trusts bed cuts. I feel 1 star is too much for this 'hospital' .
