We have just completed five days at the "Old Workshop", and really enjoyed our stay. We are a mixture of ages 17, 50, 80, and 85, so it is difficult to please everyone, but it managed to do quite well. On arrival the Cottage was lovely and warm, and a lovely welcome pack just what we needed after our long journey in the rain. It has a large spacious lounge, seating six adults with ease, beautifully decorated and clean, with a view from the rear window of Pevril Castle, being upstairs was different, and may be a problem for some, but we managed well, being positioned in the heart of Castleton is a bonus for those who cannot walk far, and compensates for the limited views from the windows. The kitchen is also very spacious, and has everything you need (except a dishwasher), which would be a luxury to us anyway, the microwave position would be easier and safer to use at a lower level, specially for an older person. The double bedroom was the smaller of the two, but cosy and adequate, the bathroom and shower were adequate and worked well, but it was a little small and difficult to get into for the elderly. The second twin bedroom was much bigger, and an on suite attached was a nice extra, although it was a bath not a shower. Parking can be an issue, luckily we have a small Saloon car, and next door had a larger Saloon, so I did manage to squeeze in and out without disturbing them, however if you had two SUVs or larger Saloons, you would have to juggle to get your car out, which you need to be aware of, we managed ok, but parking on street is difficult. Apart from the points mentioned, the weather was very kind to us and we had a very nice stay and would return.
