I have stayed in my fair share of holiday cottages and I can honestly say this is the best. The location is A*, the accommodation is A*. It has been decorated with quality furniture and fittings, the reception spaces are generous, there are gardens front and back for sitting and dining, and the kitchen is extremely well equipped. The location is quiet, yet a stone's throw from the heart of Castleton, as well as close to many attractions. You will not be disappointed.

We are lucky to have been able to stay in this wonderful cottage for a second time this weekend. We first booked last year before the National Lockdown and could not wait for restrictions to lift to enable us to return. The hosts Ian and Sam have ensured that the safety of their guests is considered in every way. The cottage is spotlessly clean and all needs are cared for and throughly thought about. The decor is impeccable and the beds must be the comfiest we have ever come across. My teenage son even commented on this. So thats saying something. A place to sit in every room, you are spoilt for choice, I needed longer to linger. Torn between enjoying the comforts of the cosy cottage and exploring the beautiful Peak District right from the door step. A perfect location. The views of the famous Great Ridge whilst having a shower is a treat. The garden is a place of tranquility, places to sit spilling out into both the front and back. Morning coffee whilst looking at the ducklings on the river. The bird feeders on the front garden attract the wildlife, theres even a stash of bird food to refill for your pleasure. Plenty of local information provided and a book suggesting the best walks in the area. Games to keep the kids entertained, a welcome pack for a much needed cuppa on arrival. Even the pooches get a look in with doggie treats. I cannot recommend this beautiful home from home enough. One thing I would say, a weekend is just not enough! We will definitely be booking again. Thank you for sharing with us. The Hudson-Cope family.
