Last year on November 2020 i have made a switch through energy comparison website - confused.com but later on their terms and conditions, when i saw that i must have a smart meter, i immediately contacted confused.com and e-on and cancelled the switch as i do not want any smart meter in my property so i got a confirmation email from both of them that it has successfully been cancelled and i attached a proof.
Then i switched to Avro energy in November 2020 and commenced on 15/12/2020 then Avro generated Dec-Jan bill for Gas & Electricity but on Feb 2021 E-ON contacted Avro with my personal & Bank details as they want to take over Gas.
Even after my cancellation from e-on, they kept sending me their marketing email plus they also "saved up my personal data and bank details" which they should not be doing as i cancelled the switch and also contacted me further, as i still have an account with them but "i don't have it" cancelled!!
So all the email coming in from E-on i did not take seriously but few months later on Feb2021 what they have done!!!
They contacted my new energy supplier Avro energy without my consent, "i mean i do not know nothing about it" and asked Avro energy with my personal data and bank details that they are going to take over the gas supply. So when Avro energy saw my personal data and bank details, they believed that i made the switch but "i did not know nothing about it".
Anyway Avro energy sent me an email regarding the Gas switch and i replied by saying No!! "I have not made any switch" but despite of saying No!! to Avro energy, E-on has taken over my Gas supply and made a direct debit to my bank and took money from my bank the following month.
When i saw on my online banking app that E-on has set up a DD & took out money from my bank, i immediately called my bank and cancelled the DD. Then my bank asked me to contact E-on as well so i called them up and also wrote an email, what they have done is an illegal act and it is not acceptable and if they try to further harass me then i will have to take it to Ombudsman.
So this is an unusual experience, the company like e-on is a real blood sucker. The amount of stress they gave me is unacceptable.
