These chaps really know their stuff. Purchased some Fennel flavoured sausage to make a Cassoulet. The flavour imparted by the sausage was amazing. Great value for such a lovely product. Go and see them!

We bought veal crepinettes (looked like faggots from when outride on the street, which got us equally Interested!). Absolutely marvellous! Delicate, needed no extra seasoning, good texture that held together well, made a wonderful and very simple to execute dinner. I only wish we lived closer to become regulars!

Found this gem in Castle Cary. We had their Ribeye steak last night... it was one of the best steaks we've ever tasted... looking forward to more of their glorious meat, from a butcher who knows his product and clearly cares about giving us the best meat available Just had their saddle of salt marsh lamb... by far the best lamb I've ever tasted... 21st August 2022

Amazing meat, local, sustainable, often rare breed, and the team really look after you. Love the incredible sausages and they do French/Italian style butchery to.

I was in Castle Cary earlier today and popped in to have a look . I fancied some steak, but changed my mind when I saw a beautiful piece of topside. I really wanted the whole piece (because I am greedy abs love good beef) but at nearly 4 kg it was just too big and expensive. However the lovely lady cut it in half for me, and I took the fatter end, logic being that I like it rare, but hubby prefers well done, and this cut gives me more chance of having some good medium beef in the middle. Well, it was a doddle to cook, and I made sure to rest it for 30 minutes, and the result? Omg, outstanding!! My hubby isnt a huge fan of beef but even he thoroughly enjoyed it and wanted more! It tasted beautiful, carved like a dream, didnt shrink at all and even had proper string round it, not that poxy elasticated stuff! All in all, it might seem expensive (it was nearly 35 ) but with the complete lack of waste and shrinkage I think this will actually be better value than cheap supermarket beef. Thank you
