BEWARE .....What an amazing property, such a fantastic location with stunning views over the Derbyshire countryside and within easy reach of many local landmarks and beauty spots. The terrace kitted out with a hot tub, chairs and firepit and that view, does exactly what it says on the tin. Internally the lodge is very spacious with its double height living area a comfortable 1st floor games area, all the bedrooms are of a good size and the bath/shower rooms nicely fitted out, the large kitchen area is useful when there are lots of you staying there, HOWEVER. Such a shame that a lot of detail seems to be missing, be prepared to live out of your suitcase as the only clothes storage in each room is a short hanging rail with about 10 hangers fixed to it, so no wardrobe no drawers, my room had a stool each side the bed a shelf and a chair ! The Kitchen albeit very large was kind of well equipped but there seemed to be a vast shortage of every day items that made us a lot of work, there were 15 of us in the house for 5 nights, maybe we've been spoilt at other properties in the past but to only find 9 mugs in the drawer did make it hard work if everyone wanted a cuppa, whilst on the subject of drinking there was a definite shortage of glasses too(other than wine glasses) so if you didn't like your beer out of a can or bottle I'm afraid it was tough, there were about 6 plastic tumblers suitable for kids drinks though if you were quick enough to claim one! Only one dishwasher ! when there is 15 of you that's a lot of washing up. The oven I'm afraid to say was not the best, glass fronts that you couldn't see through and it seemed to take an age to get to temperature. There was a nice set of saucepans to use on the halogen hob that had a mind of it's own when to switch it's self off, but the rest of the frying pans and oven pans had all seen better days with flaking non-stick and burnt on food. Two good size fridges made beer cooling a dream along with keeping our food delivery fresh, however a freezer with broken drawers was not easy to use. It's a shame and disappointing that the details have been allowed to be overlooked and let down what was a really enjoyable stay. Sorry not 5 stars from me. PS, can't find any reviews in the normal places to look, I wonder why ??
