Spent the weekend here recently enjoying the very best of winter weather in spectacular surroundings. Excellent location for a walk to the falls and nearby areas - easy to avoid having to use vehicles once you've arrived if you enjoy a good walk. The camp grounds and woodlands are fantastic. Quiet and relaxing place to spend time with brilliant views across the dales. Everything was exactly as described in the information sent over prior to arrival. Annie gave us a warm welcome and was super helpful giving tips on local walks and pubs etc. Her daughter even gave us a lift to the pub one evening - a very kind family running a rare, wild camping experience.

Really astonished at the negative reviews on here - some people clearly don't get it. This is a really unique camping experience which has the well-being of nature and wildlife at its heart whilst not being too "precious". The idea of complaining that you can't dump your rubbish there for the host to clean up is pretty outrageous. What this site offers (and does not offer) is made clear in the detailed info Annie sends. You park up near the site entrance and then transport your gear in wheelbarrows (or your own trolley) to the pitch. You're in a serene and beautiful wood, just a stone's throw from the Falls and with scenery to die for. You need to take your own water and wood (although you can order extra from Annie ahead of time) and there are compost toilets in tarped sheds which Annie takes care of regularly. If back to nature isn't your vibe then don't go here. But for sheer beauty, simplicity and relaxation it's the best place we've been. We saw deer, rabbits, kestrel, herons and too many other species of birds to name. Annie was fab - one of a kind and very knowledgeable about the area. Thank you for a wonderful 3 days. We'll be back. Marcia and Rich.

What an absolute gem of a place! We almost dont want to write this review because we want to keep it our little secret. That being said, for everybody considering staying here, its such a wonderful place; peaceful, amazing views, great walks on your tent doorstep. Annie is a down to earth and charming host. We loved the back to nature feel of the place and the fire pit made our evening every night. We look forward to our next visit! Thank you Annie and Milly
