I have just fitted a FF-35 Fleur De Lys Letter Plate and would suggest that it is impossible to make a draft proof seal as the hinges that mount the flap and spring are positioned level with the top of the outer frame which means that the slot in the door must be at the same level. Can I suggest that if the hinges were at least 5-6 mm below the top of the outer plate then a proper seal could be achieved.
