St John's church carhampton is worth looking around, the craftsmanship of the rood screen is wonderful. This Church sits on the site of the church of St carantoc, who was a Welch monk.. and the village is named after.. the present Church was built about 1860. The lovely village with its share of thatched cottages is a great place to stay
