Quarry Hockford Barn Cottages

Second holiday at this peaceful place It is remote accessed by quite narrow roads,this is worth it because it is so peaceful and quiet. It's very dog friendly. The entire lodge is surrounded by stock fencing. There is a 5 bar stock gate at the end of the drive so can can fully enclose the area. The accomodation is clean, well equipped and has everything you need. The hot water is great and the showers are powerful. WiFi connection is excellent but there is a bit of a lull at times with phone signals. But hey it's an escape ? This is the place to kick back, enjoy some of the most beautiful and green countryside Devon has to offer, and forget it all.

The stars are for the location and accommodation. I CANNOT recommend this place because the owners were so rude and unwelcoming! Prior to the holiday I phoned out of courtesy to say that my son and girlfriend would be visiting and as it was advertised as a 6 person accommodation, we wanted them to stay. He said no, that there wasn't enough room! False advertising! When we arrived they put us in the wrong cabin and made us feel so unwelcome. Even when greeted over the few days we were there Tod would not speak. He would glare and be negative, telling us the dogs should be on leads and you can't walk them in the field surrounding the property. On our final. morning the owner called to my Husband and told him we had to be out by 10. My husband explained that our paperwork says 11. Tod was so rude and we were left reeling, so shocked and actually wishing we hadn't gone. Not Recommended whilst current owners are hosting!
