I lead some of the guided tours of this building - see ciga.org.uk to book. It is one of the oldest buildings in Islington and dates back to the Tudor period. It was a summer house for the Prior and Canons from St Bartholomew the Great. Some really interesting characters lived here including Thomas Cromwell, Francis Bacon and Oliver Goldsmith. The tour takes you to the top of the Tower which has a great view. And the historic rooms are really quite some thing. Come and see the rebus or heraldic pun for Prior Bolton. And hear about 500 years of history.
