Sadly due to it being a franchise the focus is all about money. We used to use them with rescue cats and spent thousands. We took a girl with pyometra, I knew it was 100%. Without even looking at her the vet was saying surgery 1000. I refused as her temp was 105 and seizure level. I had to tell them what treatment to do. As soon as I said she was not insured they didnt want to do the surgery. Then they refused to send history to my own vets as there was a bill from the night before of 118!! Yet I offered to pay before we left and the vet said no. Recently a male cat who was struggling to wee. Half examined asked if Insured. As soon as owner said yes. Vet said it was a blockage. No scan. Nothing. However. Sent him home with a urinary catheter! Even rcv say any cat with urinary catheter should be kept at the vets under close supervision and state the welfare of the animals come first. It was bloods. X ray. Catheter etc. I went to collect and asked many questions. Most of which were not answered. Sent home with cystitis prevention meds. Yet it was a blockage 24 hours before. Absolutely shocking. Money first. Animals later. I would advise anyone with a bad experience to report to rvc and head office. More reports they get. The more they will have to do something.
