I came here to renew passports of my two young daughters (aged 4&5). This was the first time they met Slovak native speakers since the pandemic began and what an experience it was. I was not looking forward to it, half expecting long waiting lines, bureaucrats and bored, unhappy children. But our experience was the complete opposite. We arrived at our designated time, there were no lines, we went straight through security with a help of very friendly and charismatic security guard, who made the girls feel at ease with chocolates, speaking to them both English and Slovak when he realised their Slovak is quite poor. The lady who dealt with our passports was the same. Very friendly, incredibly efficient and patient with two small children trying to get their passports pics taken. They walked out with well done stickers (from the embassy staff!) and big smiles on their faces. My older daughter asked me at the door whether all adults in mummys country are that nice you could not ask for higher compliment. Yes we had to wait for our appointment for two weeks, but our passports came within three weeks, which is amazing compare to our UK passports that took four months to arriveThank you to all consulate staff on the day
