The Vets are very good, kind and compassionate towards my dog Kyra. She had a cyst on her leg. While examining the vet gave lots of cuddles and spoke in a reassuring voice. Kyra did yelp and move away but allowed the vet to look. The vets tried some treats but our Kyra is extremely fussy and was not interested. When the vet finished she tried to hide behind me but the vet made friends again before we left. On our next visit there was a different vet. Which I think is a good idea. That way Kyra won't see the same person and think she is going to get hurt. One thing I will say is if you are apprehensive in approaching a large dog. As a vet try not to show it. It was very obvious to my husband that the 2nd vet was nervous of Kyra. If it can be picked up by us humans it is going to be obvious to the dog.
