If you are looking for a costume for your event, then this is the only place you need to visit. Amazing selection of costumes for every occassion and theme. The staff is ever so helpful and the can give you advise on eras and accessories. Hire prices are reasonable. What a really cool place! If you're in a look for costumes or dresses you'll find here lots and lots of options. From medievals to victorians (and much more), this place will help your fantasies come to reality. The friendly staff here will definitely help you out! Just walk into this shop and you won't regret the experience you'll have!

I'm very disappointed! After many years of working closely with the wardrobe and providing them with a lot of commission work for our photo shoots, we have now decided to look elsewhere for costumes. Pre- Covid- I had left a dress that cost me 98 in the hands of the costume maker at the wardrobe to amend for a photo shoot- he did the work but because of covid, being high risk and the shop being closed, I wasnt able to get into the shop to collect my dress. This meant that two and half years later, we went to the shop intending to finally get it back. However, annoyed to find a huge lack of professionalism- (not the fault of the new workers) however the mistakes do lie with THE WARDROBE TEAM! The old costume maker had left and the layout of the shop has since been rearranged so when I asked about my dress, no one knew where it was! This is not good enough as when a loyal client brings an item into the shop that belongs to them, it should be kept in a labeled area so that it is clear who it belongs too. I spoke to the costume maker and he said he told the new staff where it was left and yet no dress?? Because I used the wardrobe often over the years, the costume maker didnt always record down details on paper as we would talk online about costume commissions. This now means that the wardrobe is refusing to refund me for the loss of my dress. Frankly since the shop owner knows me and knows how much work we had given to them over the years- I find this disgusting! I am now 98 out of pocket and without the dress that was left in their care. The blame game is pointless as it is very simple, which is that the dress was left in the care of the shop (whoever is working in it!) therefore they are at fault and should have done the right thing by paying out the money that I lost. They have demonstrated a huge lack of care and have left me really disappointed. Also the new lay out of the shop is rather silly as it blocks the public from easily being able to view costumes which is very off putting. Over all, poor service which is a great shame as still some super costumes in the shop. We will be suggesting to our other Cambridge based clients to look elsewhere for commission work as the shop staff cant be trusted not to lose your items and will then refuse to refund for the goods going missing. Total shambles!
