Huntingdon Road Surgery

Long wait times on the phone (over an hour) and no acknowledgement that this isn't good. All appointments are virtual - which would be fine when appropriate if it wasn't for the fact that you cannot book a time slot - they can call you any time morning or afternoon; totally unworkable if you work, or have to drop/collect children etc. They have a long message while you wait constantly telling you that you should go to the website, but if you need to book blood tests etc, you can't do that online - so you wait! Last year it took 4 virtual appointments for a condition that wasn't improving before they finally agreed to see my 9 year old daughter face to face - which resulted in the right medication and the condition being sorted. I can see why virtual appointments are attractive to the surgery, but I really think they're failing their patients by sticking so rigidly to that format. I used to be a great fan of this surgery, but now I'm fed up and frustrated by the changes.

I have been a patient for 16 years. This week I was ready for a difficult experience as the holding message on the phone sets one up for that and its a long queue. Nevertheless the receptionist was courteous , I had a prompt callback from the Doctor, very importantly with surgery number not screened and was dealt with effectively.

Absolutely shocking behaviour from their staff. Doctor David also tells you essentially to not try to contact them when you call. Absolute shambles.
