Unequivocally the best Indian restaurant in the city center of Cambridge. Most standard curry houses in the UK tend to oversaturate their dishes with excessive amounts of oil and grease. Vedanta, on the other hand, eschews this ubiquitous practice of "over-oiling" in favor of a more finesse-based approach. The end product is an absolutely delightful array of curry comestibles. Ample vegetarian options are available on the menu. It is certainly not the spiciest eating establishment in Cambridge - but if you are a heat-seeker, you can certainly ask the staff the increase the spice-level if you are so inclined. In sum, a delicious option for standard North Indian fare within easy walking distance of the bus station and the train station. As a one time student at the university, I searched extensively for the best place in town to get a curry - and this is undoubtedly it!

Ordered Masala dosa and rasam dal which was excellent, chutney not to my taste too runny and milky, prefer a thicker consistency with grated coconut, more coriander and green chilli's. Also ordered Paneer Kati roll and was expecting a wholewheat roti type wrap, instead the bread was a ready bought supermarket wrap, so not impressed as these wraps always feel uncooked and sticky , filling was OK but not something I would order again,, also ordered the Panchmel dal was not to my taste very bland compared to the rasam dal ,please put the Rasam dal on the menu to order separately from dosa as this was a winner for me. Overall very good service and excellent food ( dosa)for a first time order.
