The tour really brought the house to life. I'd seen the painting online but hadn't anticipated the sense of being immersed in the historic domestic world of 3 generations. I got a bit obsessed with the patterned original lino, the colours, the stoves and lack of plumbing etc. I'd highly recommend it. It's not quite like anywhere I've been before.

A wonderful little gem of local history. The tour guides were very informative and told a wonderful story of the family, house, local area and social history.

So much information from our guides in the actual house adjacent to the Visitors Entrance The history of the house & the artistry in context with David Parr's work & English history has more to explore than there was time to hear about......... I think more about how & why the dcor differs from the original would be worth exploring in context of how home design changes over the generations. I hope they can raise the funds to restore at least a panel in the hallway and the bathroom ceiling Given all the places David Parr worked & his lifelong employer F.R. Leach too, those sites should forge stronger ties
