I was a complete beginner when I first came here. It is very beginner friendly, everyone is welcoming and willing to help you regardless of the colour of their belt. For me is a safe space where can get more in touch with my body and provides a community that I was looking for!

I like this club. I have been participating here in training for a year. The first time I participated in Mual was when I first arrived in the UK. I don't know much about British culture and English, but I'm happy to make new friends here. Everyone is very tolerant, and inclusive, and loves to help each other. Every class is very interesting and we can learn a lot. The instructors will not only teach traditional Taekwondo which is only focuses on kicks, but also will add a lot of skills, such as weapons, women's self-defense, etc. All coaching is voluntary, and this club is also a non-profit organization. I can feel that they try very hard help ladies, especially those who are trapped in traditional concepts, and more easily to practice their favorite martial arts. They really create inclusive, happy and relaxed learning environment. They even provides language and training assistance specifically for newcomers with English, or senior age members. All in all, I am glad to join Mual and train here for some time.

I started going to the group in September and immediately felt so welcomed. I saw how amazingly the group worked together, how kind they were to each other and how caring. I watched the phenomenal Instructor Team at work and saw how seriously they took the Student Oaths and Tenets and how well they worked together to lead this group of powerful women. These are the things that make the club, not just getting fit or learning to fight. From coming to MAUL, Ive seen that being a Martial Artist is much more holistic than being able to kick and punch well. Theres a beauty to it, especially in the forms which can be quite meditative. Most importantly though, there is a training of the mind, a desire by all who are there to become the best version of themselves that they can, regardless of their physical prowess. Needless to say - Im hooked!
