First stay since The Graduate took over from Hilton. All in all, an improvement. It was previously looking old and tired. A total revamp by the graduate has improved this. Decor not to my taste as a little dark but that's just personal preference. Almost made 5 stars but a little more attention to detail is needed. Robe and slippers were not in room and had to request 3 times before receiving. Tea and Coffee tray had remains of someone's breakfast. The coffee and tea box had spilt coffe granules left in it. There is no heating in the bathroom so even though it was spring it was still chilly when stepping out of the shower. The one item that seems to be missed on most hotels cleaning rosta is the extractor fan, which as usual has large amounts of dust. Music in the bar was a little too loud. The buffet breakfast was very good, at least as good as the Hilton it is replacing. We travel to Cambridge a lot and have stayed at most hotels. I would say that The Graduate is the best and would stay again.

The location is incredible, and the renovation was well executed (on theme with the university). Overall, the stay was fine, but there were some frustrating issues. - We booked tea at the front desk. When we arrived for our slot, they had no record of it. We had to wait a while to be served because they were not ready. During the tea, one person would take our order, and another would bring something entirely different. We were sat in a room next to a conference area because the tea area was full of guests having lunch (they were not reserving the tea area for tea guests). It was also 80 pounds for a botched experience. I would not do it again. - We called the front desk to inform them that the espresso machine in our room did not work. They said they would send someone, but they never did. At check out, they implied they have a lot of issues with the machines. Still would have liked them to respond to the problem. - The bar staff were nice and attentive. - Front desk people seemed confused and overwhelmed for the most part.
