Despite some of the negative reviews previously posted, I havent noticed any change in quality since the new owners took over. The chips are still pretty good, the pineapple fritters were enjoyable. Service was friendly and accommodating. Prices are quite reasonable compared to a lot of chip shops these days.

Ordered large plus regular cod and small chips. After waiting for maybe 5 minutes, what we got was enough chips for 3 people and fish which was battered to perfection, meaning that the batter was thin and crisp rather than half inch thick and soggy with no fish in the middle like some places. Could have dinne with a bit more salt and vinegar but was excellent nonetheless.

I have been coming to the Viking for many years now. The new owners, food and the customer service is just as good. Still a great price for delicious food. Ill be back again soon!

After working here for 22 years, after reading some recent reviews I felt compelled to comment. Yes the shop has new owners. Nothing in the shop has changed. Food is still as good as ever and I still go there for my fish and chips. And the sausages are simply amazing. New owners are polite friendly and welcoming. Had people comment on price increases, unfortunately with the high price of fish, oil and of course energy prices. Prices need to be increased in order to make any type of profit. We all need to earn a living. The new owners are continuing to run the shop the same way as it always was. I will continue to buy my food from there. Well done to the new owners for continuing to keep the high standards set by the previous owners. Vegetarian options: Have a wide range of vegetarian options available.
