They were refusing to replace a faulty product we had purchased on the same day. My wife had bought a pair of Bose Quiet Comfort II for 239.95, and when she came home she realised that one earbud wasn't working. In the afternoon of that same day we went back to that same Argos collection point to return them and the staff member was refusing to accept the return as apparently the product code on the case did not match the product code on the earbuds. We explained that those were the headphones that we had collected from them just a few hours earlier but the staff member kept refusing to accept the return as he said that they have a policy of not accepting returns if the product code on the earbuds does not match the product code on the case. I explained that those were the headphones and case they had sold us and showed him our proof of purchase but he kept refusing to accept the return. In the end after a long discussion he called up Bose who told him that the earbuds they produce NEVER match the product code on the case. At that point he checked the product code on the system which confirmed that they were genuine Bose headphones and he accepted the return. My concern with this whole situation is that if we had not insisted we would have walked home with a pair of faulty headphones even though we were entitled by law to either a refund or a replacement. At no point were we offered an apology.
