Been twice after walks in the area. Accommodated us brilliantly both times in the bar area due to taking a dog in. The food the second time round wasnt as good as the first. It was a BH Monday and clearly busy. Fully understand if things are off menu, but we felt let down with the standard of others. For example the antipasti first time was unreal. Had lots of meats and cheeses. This time it felt poor. There was was Serrano Ham which looked like it had seen better days, then some cheap cheese sticks wrapped in Chorizo, with bread, olives and oils. The rest of the food then felt a bit flat. I had a Beef Sandwich (Stilton and Jam) which came in a cheap bread cob / roll. The food was tasty enough, and the selection of beers are amazing too (just get rid of Madri as its vile), but if there are things on the menu that you cannot deliver to the standards then take them off. I would however like to go and try the food in an evening on the restaurant side. The pies and meals all looked fantastic. We just left slightly disappointed.

Myself and boyfriend stayed here for a long weekend away. Our room was lovely and was perfect to come back to after long walks! We had food in the pub a few times and everything was delicious! Breakfast every morning was also fab and we got some really great tips on places to see etc. all the staff were super friendly and couldnt do enough for you. Would highly recommend
